Mexico Encore for Two Marimbas by Ivana Bilic

digital download here

MEXICO ENCORE was written for the festival de Marimbistas in Chiapas, Mexico.  It features some of the most popular local tunes like the Chiapanecas waltz.  Mexico Encore explores many different aspects of marimba musical language, including body music passages, and is ideal as encore for a duo marimba recital.  The final and the central cadenza parts can be extended if the performers wish to improvise.  Be the first to post video online of this piece and we will share it here at the MalletWorks site!
